The Harbour Carnival Corporate Duck Race was launched last year, and was a resounding success with all 50 ducks selling out in a matter of weeks. A total of 75 corporate ducks will go on sale this year, with businesses being asked to pledge £200 to enter.
Shaun Gourley, President of the Guernsey Round Table said: ‘We thought it was a good idea to start a Corporate Duck Race, but even we were astounded by how fast the ducks sold out. This race alone raised £10,000, which made a real difference to the local beneficiaries.
‘We’d like to encourage any businesses that missed out last year to get involved early. Any organisations that entered last year, and still have their ducks, can enter again this year for £150 each - a quacking good deal.’
For those companies purchasing a duck for the first time, there is an opportunity to have their company logo on their feathered friend. This will help distinguish it from all the other ducks that will be taking to the water when they are launched from a giant net at the mouth of the inner harbour.
Once again, RBC Wealth Management is sponsoring what has become a very popular fixture in Guernsey’s summer calendar. Alan Pearce, from RBC Wealth Management’s Guernsey Leadership Team said: ‘This is our sixth year supporting the Harbour Carnival and we have been pleased with the amounts raised for worthy causes on the Island. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable family event, and we will certainly be entering our own RBC teams into some of the races.’
Businesses wishing to take part in the Corporate Duck Race should email Shaun Gourley at email@example.com for further details.
